Several CECE faculty and affliates will be attending Climate Week next week in New York City. Below are a few events that they will be participating in.
Upstream, Downriver – Uniting for Water Justice Screening
The Center for Environmental Filmmaking‘s Professor Maggie Stogner will be screening her documentary “Upstream, Downriver – Uniting for Water Justice” virtually during Climate Week, from September 20 – 28, hosted by the Climate Film Festival in partnership with the global environmental platform WaterBear.
The Potential Role of Carbon Takeback Obligations in Driving Carbon Dioxide Removal Policymaking

Climate Mic Drop Summit
Professor Dana R. Fisher will be speaking at the Climate Mic Drop Summit on Tuesday, September 23rd. Climate Mic Drop Summit will bring together the voices shaping our future—from grassroots organizers to to climate financiers, philanthropists, Indigenous leaders, media makers, and conservationists.
Climate Communication in a Polarized World: Strategies that Build Trust and Drive Action
Professor Dana R. Fisher will be speaking on a roundtable, Climate Communication in a Polarized World: Strategies that Build Trust and Drive Action, at the House of Scientista on September 25th.
Conversations about Building Community Resilience in the Face of Extreme Events
Professor Dana R. Fisher will interview several subject matter experts highlighting different dimensions of resilience—from urban green spaces to coastal infrastructure to global disaster preparedness—offering practical insights and forward-looking strategies for building stronger communities in the face of climate disruption. This will release on September 29th.
