A special preview screening of The Way of the Whale, followed by a conversation about the power of film to drive change.
Director Franco Campos-Lopez and Producer Clate Korsant will speak with Maggie Burnette Stogner, Executive Director of the Center of Environmental Filmmaking at American University, about how storytelling can influence policy, mobilize communities, and inspire action. They will be joined by Joel Reynolds (Senior Institutional Strategist and Senior Attorney, Nature, NRDC), along with Ashley Avis and Ed Winters, the team behind Black Beauty (Disney, 2020) and the Lost Horses PSA. Avis and Winters will share how they are leveraging film in their advocacy work in Washington, DC to rally public support for the Save America’s Forgotten Equines (SAFE) Act.
