CECE Secures Additional Funding to Expand ‘Climate in Our Nation’s Service’ Project to Seniors and Beyond

CECE is delighted to announce it has received additional funding from the AmeriCorps Seniors (ACS) program to expand its work on the ‘Climate in Our Nation’s Service’ research project, which is currently underway as part of the three-year collaborative agreement with AmeriCorps.

The additional $1.04 million in funding over two years will help the project team accomplish three specific goals:

  1. To expand research on service corps that focus on climate work to include those programs that are being coordinated by AmeriCorps Seniors;
  2. To develop research that evaluates the effects of climate activism and engagement by older adults in the US; and
  3. To establish the DataCorps Fellowship program at American University that will train and support two cohorts of students to evaluate the effects of climate-focused service and activism across the US.
