Call for Proposals for CECE Faculty Research Incubator Program

The competition for the 2026-27 Faculty Research Incubator Program is now open. CECE is delighted to invite interdisciplinary teams of scholars to submit short proposals for projects to be developed during the academic year. (MAXIMUM: 2 pages including references). By the end of the summer, teams are expected to have built out their projects, piloted the protocols, completed a write up for the CECE Clearinghouse, and submitted funding proposals for external funding.

Up to two projects will be selected for participation this academic year. The primary project will receive support for either 1 course buyout for the lead Principal Investigator of the team or funding to split as summer salary (up to a maximum of $25,000 including fringe). A secondary award may also be made, which may be for a smaller amount (again including fringe). In addition to financial support, each team will receive input on their project development and proposal writing, as well as submission support from the CECE team. Award recipients are expected to attend all CECE events as they are able.

To apply, please submit a 1-2 page proposal including references to cece@american.edu, with subject line “Faculty Research Incubator Application” by October 13, 2026.
