Leah Ding

Leah Ding is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at American University and serves as the Director of the Center for AI Research in the Sciences and Humanities (CARSH). Her research focuses on trustworthy Artificial Intelligence (AI) and machine learning, with particular emphasis on developing reliable, interpretable, and robust AI methods to advance scientific discovery, with an emphasis on developing robust, interpretable, and reliable learning methods for complex scientific data.

Through her research and leadership at CARSH, Dr. Ding aims to advance AI methodologies that are not only high-performing but also scientifically meaningful and dependable in real-world settings. Her work bridges computer science with domain sciences and contributes to the broader development of trustworthy AI for data-intensive scientific research.
