David Hunter

Professor of Law, WCL Program on Environmental and Energy Law

David Hunter is Professor of international and comparative environmental law at American University’s Washington College of Law. He currently serves on the Boards of Directors of Accountability Counsel, the Environmental Law Alliance Worldwide-US, and the Center on International Environmental Law, and is a Member Scholar of the Center for Progressive Reform. His research interests include human rights and the environment, environmental standards and accountability mechanisms in international finance, and climate change litigation.

Current Projects

• A collection of essays and other initiatives commemorating 30 years of the World Bank Inspection Panel and other  accountability mechanisms

• A book on climate change law; and research relating  to states’ responsibility for climate change
